THOUSANDS TO DESCEND ON THE STATE CAPITOL TO PROTEST
CONTROVERSIAL ARIZONA COPYCAT LAWS
Immigrants, students, members of the civil rights community, representatives of labor, faith and business communities, and other everyday Georgians band together to demand Governor Deal commit to veto harmful, anti-immigrant legislation
[Georgia State Capitol] As anger at legislators mounts regarding HB 87 and SB 40, thousands of Georgians from across the state plan to take to the streets to show their opposition to these bills and the law makers who persist in pushing them. Opposition to the bill comes from a broad based constituency who point to clear evidence that the bill will harm Georgia’s economy, kill jobs, encourage racial profiling, and return Georgia to a ‘show me your papers’ state.
